The nasolabial fold muscle is located in the facial area. It consists of two bundles - large and small and starts from the nasal bones and upper jaw, and ends at the lower end of the upper lip. It ensures its lowering and protrusion. This muscle also helps to bring the edges of the lips closer together and close the mouth; when closed, it does not allow the supralabial folds to protrude. The function of the nasolabial philtrum muscle is similar to the function of this muscle elsewhere where there are similar muscle bundles.
