Nerves Lumbar

Nerves of the lumbar spine

The lumbar nerves are a section of the human peripheral nervous system, which is a system of nerves that are located in the spine and have their branches in the spinal region. The largest branches of the lumbar nerves are located on the sides. The lumbar nerves include the trilumbar, quadrilumbar and sacral nerves.

The lumbar nerves are not paired human peripheral nerves. The lumbar nerves arise from the two main trunks of the spinal nerves L1–L5 through the intervertebral foramina and contain the corresponding branches of the spine. The lumbar nerves form the brachial and lumbosacral plexuses.
