Shock neurosis is a state of severe anxiety and restlessness that occurs as a result of an unexpected or sudden event. Such an event can be anything - from danger to simple surprise. This mental state disorder can lead to sleep disturbances, psycho-emotional instability, physical weakness, depression and poor concentration.
Often, the causes of shock neurosis lie in psychological problems such as uncertainty, fear of the unknown, fears, worries and stress. This may be due to factors such as moving, loss of loved ones, divorce, unemployment, accidents, chronic diseases. Neurosis can also develop in response to mental trauma such as violence, bullying, emotional pain, and lack of sleep.
