Nifedipine-Fpo

Nifedipine-FPO: use, side effects and interactions with other drugs

Nifedipine-FPO is a calcium channel blocker of the dihydropyridine group, intended for the treatment of arterial hypertension and the prevention of angina attacks. It can also be used for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, Raynaud's disease, pulmonary hypertension and broncho-obstructive syndrome. Nifedipine-FPO is produced by the Russian company Obolenskoye Pharmaceutical Enterprise and contains the active substance nifedipine.

Nifedipine-FPO is a tablet with a dosage of 10 mg. However, like any medicine, it has a number of contraindications and side effects. For example, it is not recommended for people with hypersensitivity to nifedipine, severe aortic stenosis, decompensated heart failure, or pregnant or lactating women. Side effects may include dizziness, headache, nausea, diarrhea, changes in visual perception, hypotension, tachycardia, anemia, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, thrombocytopenic purpura, bronchospasm, myalgia and tremor.

It is also important to consider the interaction of Nifedipine-FPO with other drugs. For example, nitrates, diuretics, beta-blockers, tricyclic antidepressants, fentanyl and alcohol may enhance the hypotensive effect of nifedipine. Increased side effects of vincristine are also possible when combined with nifedipine. Incompatibility with rifampicin (a drug used to treat tuberculosis) must also be taken into account, since it accelerates biotransformation and does not allow effective concentrations to be created. In turn, cimetidine and ranitidine increase plasma levels of nifedipine.

In general, Nifedipine-FPO is an effective drug for the treatment of arterial hypertension and other diseases, but its use must be accompanied by careful medical supervision. It is also necessary to consider possible contraindications, side effects and interactions with other drugs when prescribing this medicine.
