Nimegesic: an effective anti-inflammatory drug

Nimegesic, whose international name is nimesulide, is an anti-inflammatory drug of various groups, produced in India by the pharmaceutical company Alembik Limited. It is widely used to treat various conditions associated with inflammation and pain.

The dosage form of Nimegesic is presented in the form of tablets containing 100 mg of the active substance - nimesulide. This drug is effective for osteoarthritis, osteoarthritis, bursitis, tendonitis, pain and inflammatory processes resulting from injuries, after operations, as well as for gynecological and infectious-inflammatory diseases.

Nimegesic has a number of contraindications. These include hypersensitivity to the drug, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum in the acute stage, serious dysfunction of the liver and kidneys, bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract, type 2 diabetes mellitus, arterial hypertension, congestive heart failure, pregnancy and lactation. The use of the drug is not recommended for children under 12 years of age.

Like any medicine, Nimegesic can cause side effects. They usually include headache, dizziness, and drowsiness. In rare cases, thrombocytopenia, nausea, heartburn, stomach pain, tarry stools, petechiae, purpura, oliguria and allergic reactions such as exanthema, erythema and urticaria may occur.

For topical use, there is a form of the drug - Nise gel. It is used for the treatment of inflammatory and degenerative diseases of the musculoskeletal system, including joint syndromes with rheumatism, exacerbation of gout, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis, osteochondrosis with radicular syndrome, radiculitis, inflammatory lesions of ligaments, tendons, bursitis, sciatica and lumbago. It is also effective for muscle pain of rheumatic and non-rheumatic origin, as well as for post-traumatic inflammation of soft tissues and the musculoskeletal system, including injuries and ruptures of ligaments and bruises.

It is important to note that Nimegesic may interact with other medications and increase their activity level or cause side effects. Therefore, before starting treatment, you should consult your doctor and inform about all medications you are taking.
