Nocardiosis

Nocardiosis is an infectious disease caused by bacteria of the genus Nocardia. These bacteria are ubiquitous in soil, where they can survive for long periods of time. A person can become infected with nocardiosis by inhaling dust containing the bacteria or by coming into contact with soil containing the bacteria.

Nocardiosis affects various organs and tissues, but most often affects the lungs, skin and brain. The bacteria cause abscesses to form in these organs, which can lead to serious complications, including sepsis and death.

Symptoms of nocardiosis may include cough, chest pain, shortness of breath, fever, weight loss, swollen lymph nodes, headache, nausea, vomiting, seizures and behavioral changes. Skin manifestations of the disease may include pustules, abscesses and ulcers.

Antibiotics and sulfonamides are used to treat nocardiosis. These medications are usually taken for several months and can help kill bacteria and prevent complications. In some cases, surgery may be required to remove abscesses.

Since nocardiosis can be a dangerous disease, it is important to consult a doctor promptly if you suspect the disease. Preventing nocardiosis may include avoiding inhaling dust containing the bacteria and wearing protective clothing when working with soil.

Nocardiosis is a rare infectious disease caused by bacteria of the genus Nocardia. It affects the lungs, skin and brain of a person, which can lead to the formation of abscesses in these organs.

Nocardiosis can be transmitted through soil, water or dust, or through contact with infected animals. Bacteria Nocardia can enter the body through the lungs and skin, but most often enter the bloodstream through wounds or cuts.

Symptoms nocardiosis may include fever, cough, chest pain, headache, weakness, loss of appetite and skin rash. In some cases nocardiosis may lead to the development of abscesses of the lungs, skin or brain.

For treatment nocardiosis antibiotics and sulfa drugs are used. However, since nocardia is a rare infection, treatment may be difficult due to the lack of effective drugs.

Generally, nocardiosis is a serious infection that can lead to dangerous health consequences. It is therefore important to take precautions when working with soil, water and animals, as well as monitor your health and seek medical attention if symptoms occur nocardiosis.

Nocardiosis (nocardiosis; Greek nókos + -oz, suffix of the inflammatory process) is an infectious and inflammatory human disease caused by a complex of species - soil or free-living gram-positive aerobic radiant prokaryotes from the asportiophyte family or from the group of inferior cocci - Nocardiaceae [1]. This is due to the peculiarities of the vital activity of these microorganisms, which can remain for a long time in the hyphal structure of fungi, the mycelium of which they form when interacting with them. On the symbionite (fungal mycelium) they secrete a substance (metabolites), a bootin-like antimicrobial substance, which precisely causes an obstacle to the synthesis of an antimicrobial peptide - an antibiotic - by the hyphae of the micelles [2].
