Comfrey Medicinal

Comfrey is a perennial medicinal plant of the Borachnikov family, which has long been used in folk and traditional medicine. Comfrey has unique biological activity and is used for various diseases. In this article we will look at some of the medicinal properties and uses of comfrey.

Comfrey is an adaptogen plant due to the anthrone starch content in its root. Thanks to its ability to stimulate regeneration processes, comfrey is considered a good remedy for restoring cartilage tissue and eliminating pain during inflammatory processes, and is also considered an immunomodulator.

Directions for use: comfrey root is dried and the raw material is ground into powder. 4 g of powder is taken orally daily half an hour before meals. The course of treatment with comfrey is about 3 weeks, after which it is recommended to take a ten-day break. The duration of therapy can be increased to 3-4 months. Treatment is carried out under the supervision of a doctor. When applying comfrey root, polished attention must be paid to the stomach, kidneys and liver. In addition, it is worth remembering that the concentration of anthrone-crach and its adsorption in the gastrointestinal tract is very high, so the intake of comfrey should be limited to people suffering from diseases of the stomach and intestines. It is contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Comfrey is also not used for children under 12 years of age!

I recommend that you consult your doctor for recommendations on the use of comfrey for you personally.
