Oxacillin Sodium Salt

Oxacillin sodium salt is an antibiotic from the penicillin group.

Indications for use:

  1. Septicemia
  2. Pneumonia
  3. Abscesses
  4. Cellulitis
  5. Osteomyelitis
  6. Infected burns
  7. Wound infections

Directions for use and dosage:

Take orally 1 hour before meals or 2-3 hours after meals.

A single dose for adults and children over 8 years of age is 0.25-0.5 g, the average daily dose is 3 g.

Children up to 3 months - 200 mg/kg per day, from 3 months to 2 years - 1 g per day, from 2 to 6 years - 2 g per day. The daily dose is divided into 4-6 doses.

Contraindications:

  1. Hypersensitivity to penicillin
  2. Allergic diseases


Oxacillin sodium

Oxazillin is a strong penicillin antibiotic that has a bactericidal effect. Catalase does not work.

It is used for pneumonia, empyema, abscess, osteomyelitis, wound infection, as well as infections caused by staphylococcus that are resistant to other penicillins and methicillin. Does not affect Pseudomonas aeruginosa, gram-negative bacteria, mycoplasmas and clostridia. The drug is available in the form of powder, tablets, capsules. The active ingredient is sodium oxaziline. Excessive amounts of active substances in the body can provoke gastrointestinal dysfunction. Indications for use are:

- Staphylococcal infections.

Contraindications include: allergic reactions; hypersensitivity to penicillins. Side effects

Nausea and vomiting; diarrhea; allergic reactions; hemolysis of erythrocytes and methemoglobinemia. Possible interactions: bactinostatics, probenecid reduce the effectiveness of sodium oxacillin. It is recommended to individually select doses for each patient depending on his weight, kidney and liver condition. When used simultaneously with barbiturates and narcotic analgesics, anesthesin may increase in the periphery. Used for diabetes mellitus to reduce absorption from the gastrointestinal tract, as well as for the treatment of abscess, sepsis, osteomyelitis, exacerbation of otitis media, genitourinary tract infections, meningitis.
