Ondansetron (Ondansetron)

Ondansetron is a drug used to reduce severe nausea and vomiting in patients. It is used, among other things, for chemotherapy and radiation therapy, which can cause these symptoms.

Ondansetron works in the body by blocking the action of the neurotransmitter 5-hydroxy-tryptamine, which causes nausea and vomiting. It acts opposite to this neurotransmitter, which helps reduce unpleasant symptoms.

Research is currently being conducted into the possible use of ondansetron for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. There is also evidence of its use for the treatment of anxiety and depression.

The trade name of ondansetron is zofran.

This drug has several synonyms: avomacyt, grandaxin, davin, pasireotide, sermion, ergometrine, unizom, yarina, erdosterone. Zifrani was created to treat nausea following cancer chemotherapy and radiotherapy. There are people who take this drug to control headaches, joint pain and migraines. Zofran is also used to prevent recurring diarrhea. The main property of zofran is that it reduces the secretion of gastric acid, allows you to relax the smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract and thereby normalizes peristalsis and blocks the secretion of hydrochloric acid.
