Kidney tumor Hypernephroid

Hypernephroid kidney tumor (t. renis hypernephroideus) is a benign kidney tumor that develops from stromal cells of the kidney tissue.

The tumor is most often localized in the upper or lower pole of the kidney and can reach large sizes. As the tumor grows, it compresses the renal parenchyma, which leads to impaired renal function.

Clinical manifestations of hypernephroid kidney tumor:

  1. Pain in the lumbar region
  2. Hematuria
  3. Palpable mass in the abdomen

Diagnosis is based on ultrasound, CT or MRI data.

Treatment consists of surgical removal of the tumor. The prognosis after surgery is favorable.
