Orchitis

Orchitis is inflammation of the testicle (Fig. 1). The disease often occurs as a complication of infectious diseases (influenza, mumps, tuberculosis) or after a scrotal injury.

The disease develops rapidly: the temperature rises sharply, the testicle increases in volume, becomes dense and sharply painful.

If such symptoms appear, you must immediately consult a doctor and strictly follow his recommendations, otherwise further progression of the inflammatory process can lead to the death of the testicle. For orchitis, strict bed rest and wearing a suspensor are required.

After the temperature drops and inflammation decreases, you should continue to wear a jockstrap or tight pants (swimming trunks). Sexual activity is temporarily prohibited until the doctor's permission.
