Explicit or Overt: Definition

Overt or Overt is a term used in medicine to describe diseases that have visible signs and symptoms. Unlike diseases that can go unnoticed for many years, overt diseases have clear symptoms that make them easy to diagnose.

Infectious diseases, such as influenza or tuberculosis, become apparent after the incubation period ends, when the body begins to fight the infection. During this period, symptoms may be invisible or mild, but after the end of the incubation period, symptoms become more obvious.



Overts are clearly visible or clearly defined diseases that have obvious symptoms and signs, different from such hidden infections, which often go unnoticed for years due to the lack of obvious manifestations. Interestingly, such infections become obvious only after the end of the incubation (hidden) period of their development. However, it should be noted that overt behavior is not always clearly associated with such diseases. It also happens that obvious changes or symptoms begin from the very early stages of treatment or symptoms.



Overt and infectious diseases.

Symptoms of infectious diseases are usually clearly expressed, which distinguishes them from chronic diseases hidden by a long asymptomatic stage. Rarely does the infectious process go on for months or even years without the appearance of signs of illness.

Typically, acute infectious infections result from the interaction of infectious agents and
