Pannus Thin

Thin pannus (lat. Panus tenuis, syn. Panellus tenuissimus) is a species of mushroom that is part of the genus Pannus of the Pannovaceae family.

Thin pannus is a mushroom with prostrate fruiting bodies 2–7 cm in diameter. The surface of the cap of young mushrooms is velvety, then bare and dry. The color of the cap varies from light yellow to light orange or ocher.

The variability of the pannus subtle is manifested in the size and color of the body.

Similar species:

  1. The connate pannus (Panellus convolutus) differs from the thin pannus in its larger size, the smooth surface of the fruiting body, the presence of a ring on the stalk, and the absence of a wavy edge on the cap.
  2. The common pannus (Panus stipticus) differs from the thin pannus in the shape of the cap, which in the common pannus is always convex, with a small tubercle at the top, and the presence of scales on the surface of the cap.
