Gaze paralysis Mental

Gaze palsy is a rare condition that occurs in people as adults. It appears suddenly and causes complete loss of vision in one eye. As a result of this, a person is deprived of the opportunity to independently care for himself, as he depends on the help of other people.

The disease manifests itself in a person completely and suddenly. From the moment of the first symptoms to complete loss of vision, a little more than a week passes. At the same time, the patient continues to communicate with familiar people, but may forget the words that he used earlier. What caused the disease remained unknown to doctors.

With eye paralysis, irreversible changes occur. The patient's processes in the visual centers are disrupted, and the functions of the brain centers responsible for vision decrease.

Diagnosis of mental paralysis requires a comprehensive examination of patients. Differential diagnosis is carried out with poisoning by drugs or drugs, diseases of the nervous system and Burroughs disease. Electroencephalography, magnetic resonance imaging and ultrasound can be used for diagnosis.

Due to impaired thinking and speech disorders, patients become aggressive and irritable, especially in stressful situations. Some patients are able to control their emotional reactions, but may experience some feelings of sadness and distress.

Depending on the severity of the impairment, vision may continue to deteriorate or remain unchanged. At some stages of the disease, treatment will include a hospital stay for 7-14 days and then outpatient treatment for 5-6 months. In such cases, patients can do without surgery using medications and physical therapy.
