PARAPROCTITIS PELOVIC-RECTAL

Pelvic-rectal paraproctitis is an inflammation of the tissue surrounding the rectum in the pelvic area.

The disease is characterized by an acute onset with fever, pain and swelling of tissue in the perineum and sacrum. Abscess formation is possible.

Reasons for the development of pelvic-rectal paraproctitis:

  1. Injuries of the perineum and rectum
  2. Inflammatory diseases (acute hemorrhoids, anal fissures)
  3. Infections (usually purulent streptococci and staphylococci)

Diagnosis is based on the clinical picture and data from computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging.

Treatment includes:

  1. Broad-spectrum antibiotics
  2. Surgical opening and drainage of ulcers
  3. Physiotherapeutic procedures

The prognosis with timely treatment is favorable. Chronic relapses are possible.
