Pear-shaped Hole

The pear-shaped foramen is a conical opening at the end of the umbilical cord in newborns, having a conical appearance that tapers towards the tip of the umbilical end. In men, it misses the head of the penis and testicles; in women - the clitoris, labia minora, vaginal part of the uterus, urethra, tubal angle and the upper part of the posterior wall of the vagina; its lower part is the upper end of the anterior part of the vagina. The hole is closed with a special loop or disposable adhesive surgical tape, most often a narrow strip of inert surgical glue.
