Fracture Incomplete

An incomplete fracture is a condition characterized by the presence of a fracture focus that covers less than half of the entire damaged area. This occurs when the bone has been broken, but has not completely separated, remaining partially between the broken fragments. In an incomplete fracture, the remaining bone remains attached to each other by torn ligaments or fragments occupying adjacent bone spaces. Although the displacement at the fracture site may appear to be significant, it may not be visually detectable.
