Periadenitis

Periadenitis is a term that refers to an inflammatory process that begins in the area adjacent to the edge of the testicle and its epididymis. The testicle itself has an appendage, from which its name comes. The epididymis is responsible for the production of seminal fluid and the process of sperm production. Inflammation of the epididymis can be caused by bacteria, viruses or other infections. If inflammation is left untreated, it can lead to serious complications such as infertility, impotence, and even testicular cancer. Therefore, it is very important to consult a doctor at the first signs of inflammation.

Symptoms of periadenitis may include:

Pain in the groin area or above the testicle Swelling and redness around the edge of the testicle Enlarged inguinal lymph nodes Stitching or aching pain in the scrotum Purulent discharge from the urethra Decreased sexual desire or erection It is important to note that treatment depends on the cause of periadenitis. In some cases, hospitalization and surgery may be required. But in most cases, antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs are used. It is also very important to follow all doctor’s recommendations to avoid re-inflammation.
