Pertussis

Pertussin is an expectorant and cough softener.

Action. Pertussin has an expectorant, cough softening and bronchodilator effect. The active components of the drug dilute mucus and stimulate its separation, reduce inflammation and irritation in the respiratory tract.

Indications. Pertussin is used for diseases of the respiratory tract accompanied by cough: bronchitis, tracheitis, pneumonia, bronchial asthma. It is also used for whooping cough.

Directions for use and dosage. Pertussin is taken orally.

Adults and children over 12 years of age are prescribed 1 tablespoon 3 times a day.

Children from 2 to 12 years old are given 1 teaspoon or 1 dessert spoon 3 times a day.

Children under 2 years old - 1/2 teaspoon 3 times a day.

The course of treatment usually lasts from 7 to 10 days. The duration of therapy is determined by the doctor.
