🎓 Pyelotomy: what is it and what is it for?
Pyelotomy, also known as partial nephrectomy or partial nephrectomy, is a surgical procedure to remove part of an organ when its tissue is affected by a tumor. This can be caused by various diseases such as cancer or cysts.
Partial nephrectomy surgery is usually performed in cases where the tumor is located in the lower part of the kidney, called the renal pedicle or sinus. The location of the tumor in the renal pedicle makes removal through the nearby renal artery more effective than removing the top of the kidney.
👨⚕️ Injection before anesthesia Pain relief during surgery can be performed using intravenous general anesthesia. Anesthesia is administered by intravenous injection through a catheter installed in the elbow. The anesthesiologist administers medications that cause loss of consciousness, make you feel relaxed, and block pain while they work. 😷 Postoperative recovery After surgery, the patient must spend about an hour in the recovery room under the supervision of doctors.
