Pelvis

The renal pelvis is a part of the kidney, which is a cavity located between the renal pyramids. It is one of the main elements of the urinary system and plays an important role in the process of blood filtration and urine formation.

The renal pelvis has the shape of a funnel with a wide base and a narrow neck. The base of the funnel faces the renal pyramid, and the neck is directed towards the ureter. Inside the pelvis is the renal epithelium, which forms filters to remove harmful substances such as salts and toxins from the blood.

The renal pelvis stores urine that comes from the renal tubules. The urine then passes through the bladder and is eliminated from the body through the urethra.

The normal functioning of the renal pelvis depends on the proper functioning of other organs of the urinary system, such as the kidneys, ureters and bladder. Disruption of these organs can lead to various diseases, such as pyelonephritis, urolithiasis and others.

To prevent kidney and renal pelvis diseases, you need to monitor your health and lifestyle. Proper nutrition, regular exercise, giving up bad habits and regular visits to the doctor - all this will help maintain the health of the kidneys and urinary system as a whole.
