In that person, treatment should be directed to strengthening the stomach and improving its digestion with the medicines for drinking, ointments and bandages mentioned in the paragraphs on the stomach, so that strength can be restored after the weakening, necessarily caused by intercourse, heart medicines are also used. Among the medications, semen-retaining agents are applied to the organs of copulation, which we will mention later, and substances that counteract the formation of semen are also given to drink; in bedding and rubbing they use the same thing that is used for those suffering from priapism. Such patients avoid everything that produces semen and constantly exercise the upper parts of the body, for example, hitting a ball with a stick or club and lifting stones. They should reduce the number of copulations only gradually, and if they copulate early in the night, not copulate for a day or two before going to bed the next night or the next. They should improve their nutrition between copulations and sleep after copulation. Further, they should gradually postpone copulation for an increasing number of days, distracted by all sorts of fun. The food that compensates for their weakness is clean bread dipped in wine.
