Prazosin

Prazosin is a drug from the group of selective alpha1 antidepressants. The drug is used for diseases: Arterial hypertension, the initial stage of heart failure, benign prostatic hyperplasia.

The hypotensive properties of the active substance are associated with inhibition of alpha-1 adrenergic receptors. There are a number of contraindications when taking the drug: hypersensitivity, after acute myocardial infarction or surgery, a history of myocardial infarction, hypotension, cardiac arrhythmias.

It is also worth considering that prazosin affects the nervous system, causing drowsiness, dizziness, depression, insomnia or increased mental excitability. Among the side effects, it is worth noting hypotension, as well as the appearance of other allergic reactions: flushing of the face or legs, itching and the appearance of urticaria.
