Pregnancy Calendar

Pregnancy lasts on average 280 days, or 10 obstetric months, counting from the first day of the last menstruation. During this period, a mature fetus develops from a fertilized egg, capable of extrauterine existence.

In the 4th week, the embryo, main organs and membranes are formed.

By the 8th week, the length of the fetus is 3-3.5 cm, the rudiments of the limbs and face appear.

By the 12th week, the length of the fetus is 8-9 cm, weight 48 g, the difference in the genital organs is noticeable.

At the 16th week, the length is 13.5 cm, weight is 120-180 g, the skeleton and muscles are formed, the sex is clearly determined.

At the 20th week, the length is 18.5 cm, weight is 280-300 g. The fetus is actively moving, a heartbeat can be heard.

At the 24th week, the length is 25 cm, weight is 600 g. The fetus can breathe, but is not viable.

At the 28th week, length 32 cm, weight 1-1.5 kg. The fruit is viable with careful care.

At week 32, length 40-42 cm, weight 1.5-2.2 kg. The fruit is viable, but requires special care.

At the 36th week, length 45-48 cm, weight 2.4-3 kg. The fetus screams, opens its eyes, and sucks.

By 38-40 weeks the fetus is considered mature, ready for birth.
