Preurethral fascia

The preuterine fascia is one of the main elements of the structure of the posterior wall of the vagina and is part of the pelvic urogenital diaphragm. At the same time, it is a continuation of the tendon part of the pudendum major muscle to the place of attachment to the ischium, which creates a barrier against the prolapse of the bladder into the abdominal cavity. Vessels pass through it, as well as fibers of the muscles that lift the ani. The fascia can also be used as a guide during surgical interventions.
