Pubitomy

Pubitomy is a surgical procedure in which the surgeon cuts the mons pubis (the pubic area) to achieve a specific purpose.

In ancient times, pubitomy was used to treat various diseases such as inflammation of the pubic bones, pubic bone cysts and others. Currently, this operation is rarely used and only in cases of extreme necessity.

Pubitomy can be performed either open or closed. The open method involves cutting the pubic bone and removing part of it, and the closed method involves using special instruments to remove a cyst or tumor without compromising the integrity of the pubic bone.

After the operation, the patient should be under medical supervision for several days to avoid possible complications.

Although a pubitomy is a fairly complex operation, it may be necessary in some cases. However, before carrying out the operation, it is necessary to carefully assess all the risks and possible consequences.
