Pulpitis Root

Root pulpitis (r. radicalis) is an inflammation of the dental pulp localized in the area of the root canals.

Reasons for development:

  1. deep caries reaching the pulp
  2. tooth trauma (bruise, fracture)
  3. chemical and thermal burns
  4. impact of filling materials

Symptoms:

  1. prolonged aching pain, aggravated by temperature stimuli
  2. pain when percussing the tooth
  3. swelling and hyperemia of the gums in the area of the root apex

Diagnosis is based on the clinical picture, X-ray data, and electroodontodiagnosis.

Treatment consists of removing the infected pulp and performing endodontic treatment - expansion and obturation of the root canals. If conservative treatment is ineffective, tooth extraction is performed.
