Vishnevsky spots are a phenomenon of unexplained appearance of a rash on the skin, most often around the mouth. Occurs exclusively in infants in the first months of life. The cause is a parasite, virus or infection on the baby's skin. Outwardly they appear as gray, pale spots with pustules, which can spread over the face and even the body. When touched, they do not cause any pain or discomfort. The rash disappears without a trace (within a week or a month and a half) in the same place where it was first localized.
The symptom is not a disease, but requires constant monitoring by a pediatrician or dermatovenerologist, who keep the skin under the baby’s supervision to prevent consequences. For this purpose, the child is prescribed antiseptic solutions for washing and bathing, disinfectants for clothing care, as well as immune-strengthening vitamin complexes.
