Dysproteinemic retinopathy (p. dysproteinaémica; Greek βίος life + πλάσμα matter) is a type of dystrophic and atrophic lesions of the retina caused by metabolic disorders and intraglacial metabolism with the accumulation of pathological proteins in it. The term, proposed in 1962 by Bochkin E.A., corresponds to the main signs and pathomorphological picture of the nonspecific lesion in question, caused by immune mechanisms at the tissue level.
