Rheumatism

Rheumatology (from Latin reum “snotty”, rheuma “boiling water, heat”, λόγος “study”) is a branch of medicine that deals with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases associated with connective tissues, as well as damage to joints, bones and muscles.

What are rheumatic diseases or rheumo?

If we adhere to the term that was proposed by the First All-Russian Congress of Doctors in 1887: Rheumatic diseases are diseases of the joints, skin or heart valves that develop due to defects in connective tissue. It is believed that the basis of rheumatic diseases is systemic pathology - changes in the immune system

The causes of rheumatoid diseases have not yet been precisely established. There are only a few theories of origin: allergic: the patient’s body produces antibodies to antigens of different cells (skin, tissues, etc.)
