Sanitary-Epidemiological Service

The Sanitary and Epidemiological Service (SES) is a system of institutions included in the Ministry of Health of the USSR and Union Republics, which monitor compliance with sanitary norms and rules, and also carry out preventive and anti-epidemic measures to protect public health.

The main task of the SES is to prevent the spread of infectious diseases and protect people's health from harmful environmental factors. To do this, SES employees monitor the state of the environment, conduct laboratory research and data analysis, and also develop and implement measures to eliminate the causes of pollution and improve sanitary conditions.

In addition, the SES monitors compliance with sanitary and hygienic standards at enterprises and organizations, and also carries out measures to prevent occupational diseases and accidents at work.

One of the main areas of work of the SES is carrying out sanitary education work among the population. SES employees conduct lectures, seminars and other events aimed at increasing people's awareness of hygiene rules and a healthy lifestyle.

Sanitary and epidemiological activities Sanitary and epidemiological care is a specific type of care for persons suffering from infectious diseases of the skin, hair, nails and mucous membranes. At the same time, it is strictly forbidden to allow people who are untidy, have no breath or body odor, or wear dirty clothes, to work. In their work, disinfectors strictly ensure that their practice does not deviate from the basic rules of hygiene and sanitation. Disinfectors are part of the epidemic prevention service and are designed to prevent and prevent them. Their responsibilities include monitoring:

- food; - maintaining personal hygiene, both by staff and visitors;

- planning of work schedule;

- keeping accurate records of sick people in order to indicate their place during the period when they transmit the infection to others; – quarantine and other medical measures in relation to especially dangerous patients; – keeping animals – sources of infection. The main task of the sanitary service is preventive work against various diseases and compliance with the sanitary and hygienic regime in public places, ranging from schools and kindergartens, workplaces and housing, and ending with sanitary stations. Sanitary supervision means monitoring compliance with legislation in the field of sanitary and epidemiological well-being. The sanitary inspectorate monitors all aspects of the work of institutions, regardless of their type. It monitors adequate nutrition, quality of drinking water, cleanliness of premises, transport links, living conditions of employees, availability of sanitary equipment, and includes recording of infectious diseases. SES constantly monitors employee health indicators
