Segmentation Cavity

The segmentation cavity is the space between the body segments of coelenterates and is usually absent in multicellular animals. Occasionally found in some sea stars and brittle stars. Relatively freely communicates with the cavities of the coelom - the interstitial cavity (endodermal septa), or blastocoel.
