Sphygmophonia

Sphygmophonia is a rare pathological condition of the cardiovascular system, in which arrhythmia occurs with high blood pressure. The name comes from two Greek words: sphygm (translated as pulse) and phone (sound). Thus, we can say that sphygmophony is determined by high values of the pulse wave with low cardiac output or myocardial collapse.

This is a rare occurrence, as it has a limited range of causes and poses a serious risk to the patient's health and can be fatal. It affects all people, but is more common in middle-aged men due to heart problems. Those at risk are heavy smokers, workers with increased physical activity, as well as people with a hereditary predisposition to this disease. In children and adolescents, a sphygmophone attack may occur due to trauma or stress.
