Shikh - wormwood

Essence.
There are two types of wormwood. One of them is prickly, with leaves like a cypress, and with an empty stem; it is used only for fumigation; another type has leaves like tamarisk. Sometimes you come across a third type of it, called Armenian Sirikun; it is yellow in color and is also called sea wormwood.

Choice.
The best wormwood is Armenian.

Nature.
Hot in the second degree, dry in the third.

Actions and properties.
All types of cypress wormwood are absorbed by the winds and tear off the juices; their astringent property is not as strong as that of bitter wormwood, but their warming property and bitterness are greater; they also have a saltiness to them.

Cosmetics.
Its ash with olive or almond oil is a useful ointment for “fox” disease; Its oil promotes the growth of delayed or falling beards.

Tumors and acne.
Citvar wormwood soothes tumors and abscesses.

Wounds and ulcers.
It prevents corrosion.

Organs of the head.
It causes headaches.

Organs of the eye.
A compress is made with the juice of citvar wormwood for inflammation of the eye, and this resolves it.

Respiratory system.
It is useful for difficulty breathing.

Nutritional organs.
Citvar wormwood, especially its third variety, harms the stomach.

Eruption organs.
She brings out worms and “pumpkin seeds” and kills them and drives out menstruation and urine; in this respect it is stronger than wormwood.

Fevers.
Wormwood oil helps against cold and chills.

Poisons.
Citvar wormwood helps against scorpion and tarantula bites, as well as against poisons.
