Visually impaired

Low vision is a visual impairment that can be caused by a variety of causes, including eye disease, congenital abnormalities, age-related vision loss, and eye injury. People with low vision may have difficulty reading, writing, using a computer, and other activities that require visual perception.

Low vision and its features Seeing is the ability to perceive and recognize objects in the surrounding world with the help of our visual organs. Poor vision is a partial visual impairment. However, it must be understood that this term refers to any type of impairment that leads to a decrease in vision to a level at which a person cannot independently perform many of the things that are possible with good eye health.

Eyes are one of the most important human organs. They make it possible to see the world around and analyze the environment. However, people with visual impairments are susceptible to various problems related to eye function. People who experience vision problems often have difficulty reading, writing, recognizing objects, and understanding their environment. Treatment for low vision aims to reduce and correct vision problems.

Types of low vision Low vision can be divided into several types according to the nature of the visual impairment: 1. **Color blindness** is a violation of color vision. Reduces the ability to recognize or distinguish colors due to differences in color perception. 2. **Amblyopia**, also known as lazy eye, is a temporary disorder. Children's vision weakens during the period of development of eye tissue. Visual disturbances sometimes occur after surgery to correct myopia, and also less commonly when one of the eyes is damaged (if the retinal cells of both eyes are not yet fully developed). In each individual case, treatment is strictly individual. All this requires a special approach and new techniques, which we will discuss further. 3. **Visual impairment due to paralysis** refers to paresis or damage to the muscles of the eyes and face, resulting in weakness or paralysis of the muscles of the eye or face. Paralysis can be caused by a head injury, stroke, or motor neurone disease. The disease occurs when the nerves supplying the eyes become inflamed. This rarely happens. Paralysis occurs mainly in young men and older women
