Spondylitis is the general name for many diseases of the spine and bones.
Spondylitis manifests itself as damage to the sacrococcygeal and lumbosacral spine. Characterized by back pain, stiffness and limitation of movements in the chest, lower and upper extremities, and decreased muscle tone. Degenerative changes and inflammation of the ligaments occur in the spine. With spondylitis, necrotic areas of the vertebrae form and connective tissue grows around the vertebrae (osteophytes). Lesions of the spine are often accompanied by a deterioration in the blood supply to the muscles; the vascular wall and joints are affected.
