The narcotic analgesic of the morphine group butorphanol tartrate is a nasally dosed spray drug that is used to treat pain of various etiologies. It is produced by Bristol Myers Squibb and has the international name “Butorphanol”.
The active substance in the drug is butorphanol, which has several synonyms, such as “Beforal”, “Butorphanol”, “Moradol” and “Stadol”. Butorphanol is available in the form of a nasal spray dosed at 10 mg/ml.
Butorphanol is used for the treatment of moderate to severe pain, as well as migraine and premedication and balanced anesthesia. However, it should not be used during pregnancy, except for pain during childbirth.
