The medial meniscomandibular ligament (lat. l. meniscomandibulare mediale) is one of the ligaments of the temporomandibular joint. It arises from the medial edge of the meniscus and attaches to the medial pole of the mandibular fossa. Strengthens and holds the meniscus during movements of the lower jaw.
The ligament plays an important role in the biomechanics of the temporomandibular joint, ensuring the correct position of the meniscus during movements of the lower jaw. Damage or degeneration of the ligament can lead to meniscus displacement and impaired joint function.
