Cornopharyngeal ligament

The cornopharyngeal ligament (syn. phrenic-cricoid ligament, lat. lig. Corniculoharyngeuin) is an intermuscular articulation of the medial edges of the pharynx and esophagus with submucosal tissue and the cartilaginous arch of the cricoid cartilage of the larynx

It is a tendon suture connected to the esophagus from the thyroid ligament to the thyroid cartilage, or in its absence, a fusion of the pharyngeal and thyroid gland ligaments. At the bottom of the oral cavity there is an opening through which the duct of the thyroid gland passes and one of the openings of the cricoid cartilages.
