Systolic Pressure

Systolic is the maximum pressure produced by the heart with each ventricular contraction. It is this information that is transmitted through the arteries to the capillaries and further into the tissues. In arteries, blood moves against its flow nature. This causes our heart to contract faster than at rest. The higher your weight or heart rate, the higher your systolic pressure reading will be. High systolic blood pressure is an abnormal condition that may indicate the presence of cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension, coronary heart disease and others. Therefore, it is important to regularly monitor your blood pressure.
