Pelvis Oblique

An oblique pelvis is a pathological condition in which the pelvic bones are displaced relative to each other. This leads to disruption of the pelvic anatomy and can cause various functional and cosmetic problems.

Causes of an oblique pelvis:

  1. Congenital anomalies of the pelvic bones
  2. Pelvic injuries in childhood or adulthood
  3. Uneven growth of the pelvic bones
  4. Tumor or inflammatory processes in the pelvic area

Clinical manifestations:

  1. Pain in the back and hip joints when walking and physical activity
  2. Lameness, gait disturbance
  3. Shortening of one lower limb
  4. Dislocations and subluxations in the hip joints
  5. Disorders of the pelvic organs

Diagnosis is based on medical history, clinical examination and instrumental methods - pelvic radiography, CT, MRI.

Treatment of an oblique pelvis includes conservative and surgical methods. Conservative exercises, physiotherapy, orthopedic insoles and corsets are prescribed. Surgical treatment is used for severe deformities and includes corrective pelvic osteotomies.

The prognosis with timely diagnosis and adequate treatment is favorable. Regular observation by an orthopedist is necessary to monitor the condition and prevent complications.
