Threat of Miscarriage During Pregnancy

Threat of miscarriage during pregnancy

The causes of miscarriage can be different: rubella or other infections, hormonal disorders in the mother, abnormal structure of the uterus, cervical insufficiency, severe nervous stress, immune incompatibility of mother and father.

Signs of a threatened miscarriage: nagging pain in the lower abdomen, possibly with cramps, heaviness in the lower abdomen, bleeding.

Danger to child

Miscarriage in early pregnancy is very dangerous for the fetus. Even if the pregnancy can be maintained, careful monitoring of the child’s development is necessary, since the threat of miscarriage is often associated with fetal malformations.

Examination for threatened miscarriage:

  1. Ultrasound to determine the condition of the fetus, the tone of the uterus, the condition of the cervix
  2. Blood test for sex hormones
  3. Urinalysis for 17-KS
  4. Blood test for thyroid hormones
  5. Blood test for intrauterine infections
  6. Test for STIs (chlamydia, mycoplasma, ureaplasma)
  7. Blood test for pregnancy antibodies

Treatment is carried out only as prescribed by a doctor. Usually these are sedatives, vitamins, antispasmodics and hormones.

If bleeding or severe pain occurs, urgent hospitalization is required.
