The transverse sinus (lat. sinus transversus), also known as the "transverse" or "sagittal sinus", is the third, largest and central of the three sagittal sinuses, running from the skull to the hollow. This sinus canal is part of the diploetic membrane, or underlying between the inner bone of the base of the skull of the dura plate and the basal cranial bone. The canal has a length of 3 to 4 centimeters. It is located in the region of the sphenoid sinus of the face and the parasellar bones (special cranial bones).
