Cystic urethritis is a pathological condition characterized by cystic lesions of the urethra. The word "cystic" refers to the appearance of blisters or cysts within tissue. In the case of cystic urethritis, tissues in the bladder and urethra are affected. The name of the disease comes from the Greek word "kyon", which means "bladder" and "oitiis/un", which is a suffix meaning "urethra" or "mucus". The pathology does not spread to other parts of the urinary system, as well as to the bladder.
