Vagal pneumonia (pneumonia vagalis, pneumovaginitis) is an inflammation of the rectal mucosa. Inflammatory changes are often catarrhal, rarely fibrinous, hemorrhagic.
Pneumonia in the vagina is caused by small enterobacteria and their toxins. Often a wide range of microorganisms are involved in the process, especially from the group of Escherichia coli. However, they are usually treated with antibiotics, which are part of the standard treatment regimen for salmonellosis and escherichiosis.
