The deep median vein (lat. vena mediana profundus) is a large vessel on the back surface of the leg and foot that supplies blood to the soft tissues in this area. It plays an important role in maintaining normal blood circulation in the leg and supplying tissues with oxygen and nutrients. Like any other vein, the median deep vein can be susceptible to various diseases, such as thrombosis, inflammation, vascular damage and others. Anatomy
The median deep vein is located on the back of the leg, starting at the knee and extending to the toes. It has two main tributaries - the superficial medial vein and the superficial lateral vein. The superficial medial vein originates on the lateral side of the knee and runs down the inside of the leg. It branches into small branches and connects with the superficial lateral vein, which also originates from the bosom
