Vein Sacral Caudal

The caudal sacral vein is the largest posterior sacral vein and develops from the sacral veins. The vein is located behind the sacral nerves and near the internal inferior iliac vein.

The anterior sacral branch (iI order branch) of the sacrolumbar vein flows into the anterior sacral vein between the apexes of the sacrum and the anterior surface of S3–S4. The posterior sacral vein, which (branch of the II and III orders) descends to it, passes into the internal inferior iliac vein at the level of the beginning of the pubis. The length of the posterior sacral vein is about 2 cm [3].

In the region of the sacrum, the arcuate line and the lower part of the iliac crest, the posterior end of the sacrum is formed by the arcuately curved anterosuperior iliosacral muscle of the same name, which forms the shell of the sacral and pelvic lymph nodes. The length of the posterior wall of the pelvis is up to 16 cm.
