Vero-Ciclosporin: use, side effects and contraindications

Vero-Ciclosporin is an immunosuppressant used to prevent graft rejection and treat rejection in kidney, liver, heart, lung, pancreas, bone marrow and other organ transplants. It is also used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis and other diseases.

The drug is produced in Russia by Veropharm and Ocasa Pharma, as well as in India by Ocasa Pharma. It is available in the form of capsules of various dosages (25mg, 50mg, 100mg) containing the active ingredient - Cyclosporine.

Although Vero-Cyclosporine is an effective medicine, it also has a number of contraindications and side effects. It is not recommended for patients with hypersensitivity to polyoxyethylene castor oil, malignancy, severe infectious diseases, renal and/or liver dysfunction, hypertension, hyperuricemia, hyperkalemia, pregnancy or breastfeeding.

In addition, patients taking Vero-Ciclosporin may experience various side effects, such as acute and chronic renal failure, renal interstitial fibrosis, hypertension, tremor, weakness, headache, paresthesia, seizures, myopathy, liver dysfunction, pancreatitis, nausea, vomiting, anorexia, abdominal pain, feeling of heaviness in the epigastric region, diarrhea, gingival hyperplasia, fluid retention in the body, reversible dysmenorrhea and amenorrhea, hypertrichosis, thrombocytopenia, anemia, hyperkalemia, hyperuricemia, increased susceptibility to infections.

You should also be careful when combining Vero-Ciclosporin with other drugs, as it may interact with some drugs, such as melphalan, diltiazem, nicardipine, verapamil, beta-blockers, fluconazole, imidazole derivatives, glucocorticoids, macrolides, lipid-lowering drugs, aminoglycosides, amphotericin B, trimethoprim, co-trimoxazole, ciprofloxacin and some other drugs, which may lead to a deterioration in the patient's health.

When prescribing Vero-Ciclosporin, the doctor must take into account all contraindications and side effects, and also evaluate the benefits of its use in each specific case.
