Vero-Tamoxifen: use, side effects and special instructions
Vero-Tamoxifen is a drug belonging to the group of antiestrogens. It is produced in Russia by Veropharm and the Belgorod branch and has the international name Tamoxifen. The drug is presented in the form of tablets containing 10 mg and 20 mg of active ingredient.
Indications for the use of Vero-Tamoxifen include the treatment of breast cancer, especially in menopausal women, endometrial cancer, anovulatory infertility, oligospermia, pituitary tumors, kidney cancer and soft tissue sarcoma.
The drug has a number of contraindications. It should not be used during pregnancy, or for thrombophlebitis. In addition, there are restrictions on the use of Vero-Tamoxifen for leukopenia, thrombocytopenia and hypercalcemia.
Side effects of Vero-Tamoxifen may include gastrointestinal disorders (anorexia, nausea, vomiting), dizziness, skin rash, hypercalcemia, thrombocytopenia, mild metrorrhagia, thrombosis, as well as possible fever, corneal opacification and retinal degeneration.
The interaction of Vero-Tamoxifen with cytostatics may increase the risk of thrombosis.
In case of an overdose of Vero-Tamoxifen, side effects may increase. Treatment in this case should be symptomatic.
During treatment with Vero-Tamoxifen, monitoring of the number of leukocytes, platelets, calcium levels and blood coagulation parameters is necessary.
