The vesicovaginal artery (lat. a. vesicovaginalis) is an unpaired artery of the female pelvis, arising from the internal iliac artery.
The vesicovaginal artery supplies blood to the posterior wall of the vagina, the lower part of the bladder, and adjacent parts of the rectum in women. It departs at the level of the cervix, passes downwards and anteriorly, bending around the side wall of the vagina. The branches of the artery anastomose with the branches of the vaginal, vesical and rectal arteries.
